E-commerce Case Study: BatteryHeads.com
“Our experience with Iwo Creative was outstanding. Iwo provided a sound critique of our old website and made many suggestions on how we could improve our sites visuals and functionality.
Our new site is easy to navigate, easy to look at, and has been optimized for search engine indexing. Everyone at Iwo was easy to work with and the work was completed on time! We are very pleased with our website and continue to use Iwo Creative for enhancements and related internet marketing.”
Scott Gibbons, BatteryHeads CEO
Project
To create a new business identity, redesign the previous e-commerce site, implement the new design into a new e-commerce solution and develop custom applications — missing in the previous e-commerce solution. The new site was to be moved to a new host and search engine optimization measures were to be taken to improve search enigne ranking.
Batteryheads.com is an e-commerce site selling TechPower replacement batteries and electronic accessories. They have approximately 18.000+ products on their site.
Solution
Step 1: New business identity
BatteryHeads already had an identity. We liked the idea behind the logo and decided to use it, but give it a face-lift. The colors and typography of the old logo felt a bit dated so we modernized those as well.
After a few different sketches, Scott Gibbons, BatteryHeads CEO, approved the final
iteration.

Step 2: E-commerce redesign and implementation
Iwo Creative began with an analysis of the old e-commerce site to see what needed to be improved. We then outlined a new structure and redesigned the layout. After approval we put our programmers to work.
As the site began to take shape, we added details here and there to improve the user experience and add extra value to the site. Iwo added several custom applications to the new e-commerce solution. To give an example: our programmers developed a feed to Froogle (comparison shopping) and added an interface so employees at BatteryHeads with no knowledge of HTML could easily update what was sent to Froogle.
As Mr Gibbons mentioned, Iwo still works with BatteryHeads.com with improvements of the site and development of new sites. We are very pleased BatteryHeads is satisfied with the services we have provided.
